Late 20th Century Hand Painted Solid Wood Watermelon Sculpture

This table top decorative object is crafted of very heavy solid wood, (wood type unknown), and is meticulously hand carved and hand painted to depict a slice of watermelon. Not only is it a great piece for indoors or outdoors, but is a great conversation starter too. (I dare you to challenge someone to take a bit out of it!). The painting is almost life-like with the interior of the watermelon in various colors of red, black seeds and shades of green depicting the rind. It has a nice soft matt finish to it.

Even though this piece is not signed, the artist was well known to me. She is my late mother, artist, Frances Cooper. Check out the rest of her collected works within my shop!
