The print is signed in pencil by Saito and stamped/sealed in red within the image. It is titled (“Coral”), dated (1958), and numbered (7/150) in pencil in the lower margin (below the mat). Saito’s “self-carved self-printed Kiyoshi Saito” paper seal is attached to the frame backing. The original owner purchased the print while visiting Japan in the 1960s and had it framed there (with the traditional wood backing. We have added a new acid-free back mat).
An early and exceptionally rare, hard-to-find work. Would be a great addition to any modern Japanese or Asian print collection or eye-catching stand-alone accent artwork in about any setting.
Professionally framed and matted with a silk mat.
Frame dimensions: 27″ high, 23″ wide, .5″ deep
